Our Story

About Arangu

"Arangu" (അരങ്ങ്) — a Malayalam word meaning "stage" or "theater" — is more than just a name. It's a promise. A promise to give every artist the platform they deserve.

Musical Performance

The Spark of Arangu

It began not with a grand plan, but with laughter echoing in a small living room. A group of friends — actors, musicians, designers, and dreamers — had gathered after a community play. Someone joked that they spent more time talking about good theater than making it. That remark lingered, sparking an idea that grew bolder with every conversation.

They called their vision Arangu — a word that carried history and promise. To them, it wasn’t just a stage; it was a meeting ground where stories, languages, and art forms could breathe together. They imagined an open space where classical dance met improv comedy, where a Carnatic raga could flow into a jazz riff, where storytelling belonged to everyone.

The name Arangu became a promise: to create without borders, to honor roots while stretching branches.
